Grandpa is 60!

Hey guys! Did you hear that our grandpa is 60? Well, he is, and we were all there to help him celebrate! The two girls (and their mom and dad) surprised Grandma and Grandpa with a visit, coming around the corner of the house in the middle of the party and making Grandma and Grandpa speechless. Grandpa said that was his best birthday present!

Grandpa had a delicious cake. We helped blow out the candles.
Grandpa's family gave him an ipod. We'll see if he learns how to use it!

Some of us got popsicles to eat. We all had funny coloured tongues. (Two of us didn't get popsicles. They say we're too young!)
He got some strange gifts too. This one takes the cake - a slow cooker shaped like a basketball!

We three cousins got to have some quality time together. We played, went to the Children's Museum, and just got to know each other better.

This one was happy some of the time - usually when she was close to her mom.

Sometimes, she was not so happy. But by the time she and her family were ready to go home, she really liked Grandpa (even though it doesn't look like that in this picture!)

Grandma got to play the piano with her oldest grandchild. It didn't really matter that they weren't playing the same tune, or even from the same book. They thought they sounded great!

The two cousins who are so close in age enjoyed each other's toys, and they shared very well.

We all got to know our great grandparents a bit better too. Here we all are with one great grandpa.

It was a wonderful, exciting, loving four days. Grandma and Grandpa are so thankful that everyone planned this surprise. They can hardly wait for the next visit!

Mother's Day 2008

Finally, a nice day! It was warm and sunny for Mother's Day, and we were happy to have both Great Grandmas, one Grandma, one Great Aunt, and the newest mother over to celebrate. Also there were two Great Grandpas, one dad, one grandpa, one aunt (the favourite one) and one almost uncle. A good time was had by all.
The almost uncle, the favourite aunt, and the newest mother enjoy a laugh.

Great Aunt and the boy (7 and 1/2 months old - six teeth, little hair!)

Grandma and Grandpa decided that we should celebrate the September birthdays as well, so we could give the boy his new wagon. It was hit! He enjoyed his first trip around the block. Note the cup holders and the shade provider.
Another view. He seems pretty comfortable. Hopefully now he can help Mom get groceries!
