Shower Time Again!

The wedding is now fifty something days away! We're all getting excited. This wonderful group of friends and neighbours gathered today to help the bride celebrate. These two knew each other before today, but neither one knew that the other knew the bride! (Did you know that one is an angel?)
This was the "young" corner, with the bride, some of her attendants and one of the hostesses.
This was the "not quite so young corner" but it looks as though they were having just as much fun (or more) as was the younger crowd .The one on the right is the other hostess. The shower was at her home.

The bride's neighbours also attended. These two have watched her grow up from the day she arrived. Substitute mom on the left was well known for her "Mr. Dress up Snacks" , and in later years, the golfer on the right was appreciated for her muffins (when the bride worked at the pro shop).
By far the youngest attendee looked after bringing in all the gifts, while the matron of honour (or is it "maid" of honour?) made sure to keep careful record of which gifts were from which guest.

Grandmother of the bride is 100% for attendance so far!

This was the most creatively "wrapped" gift - towels which looked like a wedding cake! Guess who gave those! (Hint: same person who made the shower invitations)

And of course...the best gift of all. The bride is the new owner of the family ugly vase. She gets to store it until another family occasion, when it can be regifted. (Although she says she likes it and will use it!)
Thanks to everyone who organized, provided the great food and beverages, those who attended, and all those who wish the happy couple well. We are blessed to have such good friends and family.

A Hallowe'en Howl

Once again, the creative members of the family decided to hold a Hallowe'en Howl at their home. The highlight of the evening was the quiz about the Hallowe'en village. The answers were disputed greatly, especially when the participants saw the quality of the prize trophies. Still in question - how many ghosts were there? How can there be a diffinitive answer, when ghosts can become invisible at will?

Some of the carved pumpkins. These were on last year's entry, but they are worth another look.
Deep discussion, and more carved pumpkins.
This picture is a little blurry, but that's because Elvis was movin' and shakin' all evening. Priscilla (minus the botoxed lips) is hiding behind the guest who recently returned from Italy.

Biker Boy had us all going with his tatoos. Are they real, or are they fake?
Sisters, sisters, one a devil and one a gaudy tourist. The monk is looking on in amazement at such a spectacle (and wondering exactly what to do about that devil).
Mickey and the hockey player arrived in style. We thought they would get the prize for costumes which took the least amount of effort, until we saw...

the yoga instructor and the roofer. No fair wearing what you wear every day and calling it a costume!

A few movies of the evening. The first two are of our host and hostess, and the last a few seconds of the village in action.

Thanks again. It was a fun evening!

Budding Musician

While his Mom was off entertaining his great-grandma by playing her flute, this young man decided to try his hand at percussion. Do you think Mr. Kula would be interested?
