A Visit Out East
Since it has been about three months since the granddaughters visited us for Auntie and Uncle's wedding, Grandma and Grandpa decided to fly out for a whirlwind weekend. Our visit coincided with Dad's birthday. Here the younger granddaughter enjoys some of Dad's birthday cake. Chocolate appears to be a hit!
There was lots of time for cuddles. Here Grandpa and granddaughter are reviewing the photos taken with older sister's digital camera.
We coloured, we drew, we read stories, we had fun.
We also went to the Children's Museum. Here are the two girls digging for dinosaur bones.
Older granddaughter and friend.
Anyone for a snowmobile ride?
Watch out for those teeth!
A suitably named rocket ship.
Sunday we went to church, back to where Mom and Dad were married almost six years ago. Older granddaughter is big enough to sit with the adults, while the younger one engaged in "holy play" as the minister calls it, in the back pews and downstairs.
The birthday boy and his two beautiful girls share a cuddle before bed.
We had a great trip. The visit should tide us over until this family visits us this summer!
All Video All The Time
Here area couple of video memories of our recent trip to see the grandkids. For some reason, they aren't loading well. I will try later to add a few more.
Obviously, our younger granddaughter loves to swing. Grandpa gave a lesson in batting, but Grandma hit it over the fence into the neighbour's yard!

A Weekend with "The boy"
Our favourite grandson came for a visit this past weekend. It was good to have him here, because as many of you who read this know, one of his great- grandpas was taken to hospital, so it was good to have an 18 month old to help relieve the tension. (Great Grandpa is still in hospital and is resting comfortably).
Here grandpa and grandson peruse the Saturday paper, with juice and snacks (raisins and Cheerios). No bargains in the paper this past Saturday.
Then on to real breakfast...I think this is the morning we had egg in the hole. He liked it!
We didn't think our weekend was too exciting, but obviously we tuckered the boy out. He stayed this way for about 45 minutes, after a Monday morning grocery shop.
Two short videos - one of more music (please ignore the tinny piano - it does need tuning!) I am not sure who is teaching who on the keyboard.
The second may be valuable some day, especially if he makes a professional team. Note the good pitching form! It appears that our antique cupboard makes a good pitching mound. He "pitched" Grandpa's glasses case many times during the weekend.
