Bistro des deux vieilles tantes

It was a beautiful summer evening when a new Bistro opened for a one-night engagement. The occasion? A bridal shower for the family F.I. teacher and her beau. The Bistro Des Deux Vieilles Tantes was an immediate success! The two old aunts for which it is named are pictured above.

As always, the resident chien announced the reason for the festivities.

It was hoped that the dinner could be served on the patio. Because of threatening clouds, the lower level was selected instead. Good thing too, for right in the middle of the quiche it did rain.
Here is the younger of the two old aunts proposing a toast to the lovely bride.

The M.O.T.B. looked lovely as always.

Partway into the festivities, two surprise visitors showed up for a few moments. They just can't bear to be away from the bride for too long! (Actually they were just delivering some forgotten items.)

The bride's attendant, her sister, managed to keep track of all the lovely gifts. The bride thanked everyone for coming. The best comment of the evening was hers - "I feel just as though I am in Paris, except that here it doesn't smell, and everyone is nice!"
We all wish the bride and groom the very best, and eagerly await the wedding day!

Is this really a game?

Last night the boy was left with Aunt and Uncle, who decided to take him to a volleyball game between Canada and Peru, mostly because one of the Canadian players is a family friend. While suitably impressed with the big Peruvian flag being waved around, and all the noise, and the cute young girls sitting in front of him, he was not overly impressed with volleyball itself, choosing instead to bury his head in auntie's shoulder and "sleep" for much of the evening. Grandpa says that's what all people do at volleyball games - sleep!
After his little "naps", the boy was quite happy to socialize with anyone who would respond to his "hi!", and to go and visit for a bit with his uncle's sister and husband, and brother. Does that make them relations?
Unfortunately, Canada lost 3-1. So now we have covered basketball, baseball, soccer, and volleyball. What's next? Another wedding!
