Mom had some surgery, so Grandma and Grandpa got to take the kiddies to the zoo, on a gorgeous August day. This was Grandson's favourite perch, seeing as Grandma and Grandpa didn't know that he IS allowed to stand on the front of the stroller!
Last time we were at this camel slide, there were two cousins with us, and this little lady wasn't part of the group yet.
Who are these cute little chickies?
And of course, what's a trip to the zoo without a walk over the bridge for ice cream? Flavour of choice - bubblegum! The youngest one loved the cone, and did get a few tastes of vanilla. Even grandmothers don't give those under the age of one bubblegum ice cream.
And here is the little one so anxious to crawl, but just unable to get it all together. This reminded me so much of the time I put grapes on the grass to make this little one's aunt crawl. She was just about the same age. So much fun!
Thanks for the great day guys!

A Visit Down East
After all the stressful events of the past couple of months, it was fun to go and visit the girls (and son) down east and to catch up on what has been happening in their lives. First of all, we had to see the new house. We hope that 2 x 4 isn't holding up the garage!
Each girls was proud and happy to show us her room, and also to show us "our" room (and bathroom). It is nice to know that we have a place to stay when in the east!
My favourite room - master bathroom tub on the second floor, flooded with sunlight. The windows are now frosted. Builder's error.
The girls were happy also to spend some time camping with us, first together and then one at a time. Grandpa made a fire so we could roast marshmallows for S'mores.
Pancakes for breakfast - yummy! Grandpa doesn't usually get such an elegant meal.
The older of the two loved to do crafts, and was happy to cut (she is great at it), paste, colour etc all day.
The younger much prefers the more physical activities. She could swing all day, as long as someone continued to push her higher and higher "to the trees".
After Grandpa and Dad went on their trip, we all took a train ride into the countryside.
At the stop, we found an abandoned circus car! Lots of silly picture opportunities.
It was a great day for the beach too. The beach is only 30 minutes away, so we could go for an hour easily.
Back to the new house so auntie could see it. Here the girls are enjoying their first meal in the "Great Room".
And finally, as the younger is celebrating a birthday soon, we were able to share in a Thomas cake. What fun! Thanks for the great holiday. Pictures are in the mail to you.
