West for Once

When one lives on the prairies and usually travels east from there, it is easy to forget how beautiful the mountains are.  On a quick trip west, I was reminded, and for four glorious days enjoyed the views and the climate, which was perfect.  Of course, one is also reminded that if one walks down, one must also walk up.  The thighs were screaming at times!
Lakes were calm as mirrors every morning, so I enjoyed my morning walks along them thoroughly.
And we visited family and ate heartily, particularly here at Quaaout Lodge.
Would have loved to pack this bench in my backpack to give as a cabin opening gift!
One of us made a new friend!  Four days passed quickly, then one of us went west and I returned home, tired but satisfied that the purpose of the trip had been accomplished.  Now on to a new baby!  Soon, we all hope!

A Quick Trip

Feeling the need to travel east for a bit, Grandpa and I hopped on a plane for a very quick visit to that place where we know there will always be a bed for us! First on the agenda was watching the bikers. Both girls are good riders, but the younger one was especially anxious for us to see her new Tinkerbell bike. The older one had a new Leapad for us to see and explore! The Easter bunny was very good to these girls.

We had two visits with folks who have become good friends, even though we don't see them much. Even though our prayers have been headed their way, it was good to be able to give them hugs and tell them how much we care in person.
No visit would be complete without one dinner out. This place was a hit with all! Where else could you get orange ice cream AND purple ice cream, all the sprinkles you want, and marshmallows dipped in chocolate. Traditional Chinese food, I am sure! ( The hot and sour soup was to die for!)
All too soon our visit came to an end. We look forward to the summer, when hopefully these girls will be able to come camping with us for a couple of days, and we can learn what is new and exciting in their lives. Thank you all for such a great visit! See you soon! Love you all!
