Lake days...glorious!

What a great way to spend an anniversary!  The next few photos are of the new "cottage" - which is now clean and ready for the big move on the weekend.

My apologies to out of province viewers.  Next time I will take some photos of the outside as well.  Suffice it to say, it is two storey, almost all covered by rolled logs, triple-peaked, and has an enclosed storage area underneath.  It is a perfect place for the new residents.

One thing my mother taught me was to celebrate all occasions.  So, last night  we had the wonderful opportunity to celebrate one of her occasions - her 85th birthday.  For all those of you who live elsewhere, and who think that Manitoba is filled with mosquitoes, think again!  Last night was perfect- warm and sunny, light winds, and nary a mosquito in sight.  Thank you Taz Stewart (google him if you don't know who he is). Pictured above are four generations, one great - grandma, one grandma, two moms and three great grandchildren.  The newest great grandchild was sleeping, and two others from this line of the family live far away.

And alone with grammy.  It was a stretch to get this photo in as all the younger ones had already had lots of excitement and treats.

Another generation sits on the "Mr. Fun fun".  We have lost his hat (and his red mouth according to Heather) but he still has some appeal obviously!

Of course there was ice cream and cake, with sparkler "candles".  No goodie bags though, much to the chagrin of the older boy.  Maybe I can find some goldfish to send home with him!

Happy birthday Mom.  You are the matriarch of the family.  We are blessed that we are all healthy and well and able to join in the festivities.  You are still showing us how to make memories, now for another generation.  May your jelly bean jar stay full!  Love always.
