Winter Wonderland

Today's entry is for all those readers who do not live where we do. If you have been reading this blog regularly, you will know that we have had unseasonably cold temperatures this winter. Every once in a while we get a "teaser" day, as we had last Saturday, when the temperature approaches something we enjoy, but then it is back immediately to the deep freeze. I just heard on the radio that the windchill today makes it feel colder than -40 C.

However, there is still beauty in the cold. Yesterday I looked out the window and saw one of those scenes that you think artists invent when they paint landscapes. The sun was on the way to setting (but we still had light, unlike a few weeks ago). The shadows on the snow made it look blue. Try as I might, I couldn't capture the colours adequately, but here are a few pictures of the snow, just so you know what you are missing. The first and last are from our living room window, and the middle (through the screen) from our bedroom window.
