Happy birthday Grandpa!!!

The sun shone for a while on Thursday, and these three arrived to help Grandpa turn either 31 or 300, depending on which grandchild you asked. (One from the east said 300). It was a fun-filled lunch, and as the sun was shining the visit could include a couple of visits to the playground. Grandpa's present was "hockie-talkies" (walkie talkies) which Grandpa and oldest grandson enjoyed to the max. 10 4 good buddy!

Getting friendly with the next generation

Recently #2 daughter posted a blog all about her long-standing friendship. She has been friends with a couple for about 13 years. Here is my friend of 50 years (yikes) getting to know our grandson, son of #2 daughter. Since my friend is my daughter's godmother, does this now make her great godmother? Godmother once removed? Grand godmother? Whatever we call her, she is my friend, and is very special to me. Obviously Mr. C. likes her a lot too, especially when she is the holder of the bottle!

A Very Merry Unbirthday!!

I don't know what happened to this entry the last time I posted it, but it has disappeared. So ...here it is again. Here are the unbirthday girl, the almost birthday girl, and the celebrating feeling good girl enjoying lunch together, something we don't do enough!
A very merry unbirthday girl enjoy a free dessert - which we all shared!

May 1, 2011 - What is this?

Having spent several days in my new zero gravity chair, in the sunshine on the deck, I was most unhappy to wake up Sunday morning and find this in our back yard. Besides that, it was cold! Bravo to the brave souls who made it out to church and to other events that day. The cold and the blowing snow caused many accidents here in our province, and unfortunately some fatalities. Thankfully most of our family members did not go on the highway, and those who had to do so stayed safe.

Here at home, we thought we were going to have the company of two grandchildren for the weekend, but instead, we got two elephants! Good thing they like pizza, pancakes and chocolate milk!
